Rays Leadership Program

The Rays Leadership Program is a flagship initiative designed to nurture young leaders in Somalia. It offers a comprehensive curriculum focusing on leadership development, innovation, and social impact. Participants gain invaluable skills and join a vibrant network of changemakers dedicated to driving positive change in their communities.

The program aligns with the principles of the National Development Plan 9 of Somalia, which aim to create a better future for all Somalis. By focusing on career mapping, communications, ICT, leadership, and financial literacy, RLP prepares young leaders to address the pressing challenges facing their communities and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

Rays Leadership Program (RLP) is a career and leadership development program aimed at equipping young potential leaders with the skills they need to succeed. The program targets young people aged between 16-24 years old who live or study in Mogadishu and are pre-university high school level. RLP is a partnership between SDGs 252, now rebranded as Rays Initiative and the Global Shapers Community Mogadishu Hub. The Rays Leadership Program (RLA) is not just a training program, but a program that is committed to producing young leaders who are skilled and motivated to contribute to the sustainable development of their communities. By equipping mentees with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, RLA aims to inspire them to commit their personal development to the betterment of their communities.

Objectives

The main objective of the RLP program is to provide young people with the necessary skills and knowledge to shape their careers and unleash their potentials. The program will cover career mapping, communications, ICT, leadership and financial literacy. By the end of the program, mentees will have a clear understanding of their career paths, as well as the skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen careers.

Target Beneficiaries

The RLA program is designed for young people aged between 16-24 years old who live or study in Mogadishu and are pre-university high school level or first year university students. The program aims to provide equal opportunities for young men and women, with a target of 50% female mentees per year.

Training Modules

The RLP program will be divided into 20 weeks of training and coaching, covering the following topics :
